NZ Academy of Fashion has been teaching my 14 yr old daughter to sew clothing. She is progressing quickly and comes home feeling very accomplished. The school has classes for all ages however. 🙂
The teachers have structured the teen class to teach at the girls’ level and spend extra one on one time to help them complete difficult techniques. My daughter has already completed an invisible zip perfectly and I am told that is quite difficult. We are all very proud of that.
The academy has a beautiful facility in a residential neighborhoods with many professional quality sewing machines, tables and tools. The teachers are highly competent and the right amount of kind strict to ensure quality results from the students.
The academy has helped me understand what tools I need to purchase and provided us with high quality tools at our cost when she needed something. My daughters teacher took alot of time to talk to me about materials and training in fact, and how we could give my daughter a lift to do her best. They really do look after the individual student which is amazing.
The academy is a friendly and productive environment that will get you to the stage of sewing you would like to be. You’ll probably make some nice friends in class as well who share your interests.
